Papy has very little formal training in art other than a few pointers here and there accumulated by some famous Artists and some not so famous artists including his mother lillian who studied water color once under water colorist Dong Kingman. .His art is conceived in his mind and never layed out prior to hitting the Wood card board ,Canvas or what have you. He never paints in oil as he values his mistakes and prefers to turn the negative into a positive. When he was younger 7 or 8 years of age,he remembers a female camp counselor teaching him some art techniques. She would ask him to make any scribble. And would turn around and make it into a picture or drawing. Little Papy thought that was so cool. Now when he screws something up it can be turned into something else total different than it started out to be.Papy is still a student of art as he believes truly there are no masters nor are there any bad artists. He enjoys creating new things and making people smile. The Gift of a smile is only secondary to Gods gift of life.
